This Shinken has a "live" blade (sharpened) and made in the traditional Japanese way, by
folding the metal many times to obtain a blade that is light, yet incredibly strong. The real
shark skin hilt underlay and the wood Tsuka (Hilts) are parts of the traditional materials.
The hand guard (Tsuba)is made of cast copper. The scabbard is hand-crafted of hardwood
featuring traditional black stain finish. Tang extends 85% to the end of hilt. Shinken is the
standard blade for practioners who have attained the level of 6 th-dan (rokudan).

This sword is delivered "semi-sharpen" for safer handling (preferred by most martial art
practioners). If you like it razor-sharp, you can sharpen the blade with a sharpening stone.
The blade needs to be oiled to prevent rust.
